Starship
Maybe the most attractive trumpet we have made to date. Loosely based around a large bore Chicago Custom, the platework, bell curve and main tuning slide curves have all been reworked to achieve a flowing, sculpted look. It has no tuning slide rings, as these would spoil the grace of line. On closer inspection you will find more subtle details that compliment the overall elegance of the finished trumpet.

Blue Zeus

This striking looking instrument was created to fulfil the customers’ simple brief. “Make me a Zeus Cornet like no other, and make it blue. Oh! And make sure it plays well.” The rest was up to us. This was a challenge that needed to be met head on.

Octagonal

The octagonal bell was made to resemble those old gramophone horns. The one-piece mouthpipe has been milled to an octagonal profile to match the bell. It even has octagonal flanges on the mouthpipe braces. The bell is two piece, in copper for the main stem, and yellow brass for the octagonal flare. The hand applied chisel-cut Art-Deco style engraving adds the finishing touch to the bell. Why did we make this trumpet? Because we could!

Black & Green

This black and green marble effect trumpet, was specially commissioned to be the centrepiece of a large, privately owned trumpet collection. Some of its more outstanding features include the way the braces flow into the tubes on either side. They are the same thickness as the adjacent tubing, and curve gracefully and seamlessly across their respective space. It also features few visible joints, and an outstanding paint finish, by one of the worlds most respected custom painters. This trumpet is more than just a showpiece; it also plays extremely well.

Jewelled Horn

This trumpet was inspired by the wonderfully over-the-top style of Faberge. It was a very time consuming project, involving a great deal of planning. There were no second chances making this one! Each ring of stones had to be carefully aligned, and individually applied, while working on the triple compound curve of the bell flare.

Copper 'Hartfield Edition'

Copper Hartfield

We have turned the commonly accepted rules of trumpet making upside down to make this model and against all the odds, it works. If you love playing the flugelhorn, and find the trumpet a bit stifling, then this might just be what you've been looking for.

It turned out to be probably the finest ‘Smooth-Jazz’ trumpet available. With this trumpet it is so much easier to achieve that ‘fluffy’ sound, which is so much a part of that style.

If ballad playing is your forte, you may also find this to be a very useful tool, as the tonal palette used for both styles is so closely related.

Two or three well chosen mouthpieces and an adjustment to the seemingly closer than expected harmonic series, and you could be playing a revelation. This is not a miracle horn, but, in the right hands you would be hard pushed to find a more versatile trumpet. Soft and sultry one minute, brash and bold the next. A heady mix of trumpet dynamics, cornet flexibility and flugelhorn smoothness.
